Nick Powell may return for Wigan’s visit of Derby on Saturday.
The striker missed the 1-1 draw at Bolton last weekend with a hamstring injury having lasted just 22 minutes in the win over Blackburn. Antonee Robinson (ankle), Gavin Massey (hamstring), Chey Dunkley (knee) are all out. They join Michael Jacobs (hamstring) as long longer-term absentees for Latics.
Jack Marriott is in line to return for Derby after a foot problem. The striker missed the 2-1 win over Swansea but trained on Thursday and is expected to feature.
George Evans is close to a comeback after knee and hip injuries and is due to face Manchester City on Friday night. Joe Ledley is training again after a hip problem but Curtis Davies (Achilles) is out for the season and Craig Forsyth (knee), Mason Bennett (hamstring), and Marcus Olsson (knee) have all been struggling.
Wigan have failed to score in their last three league matches against Derby (D1 L2).
Derby have won four of their last five away league visits to Wigan (L1).
Wigan boss Paul Cook’s two previous meetings with Derby were both in cup competitions – he lost 0-2 with Chesterfield in the FA Cup fourth round in 2014-15 and won 2-1 with Portsmouth in the League Cup first round in 2015-16.
