Mana too good but Rookies remain in Goldfields netball’s premier top three

Rookies 1 have kept their third spot in the Eastern Goldfields Netball Association’s premier standings despite a round five loss to Mana last weekend.

Defying their underdog status, Mana controlled proceedings in a 44-36 result to grab their second win of the season.

Second-placed Imperials beat Steelers 52-35 and competition leaders Sonix 1 accounted for NVUS 61-33.

With four wins, Sonix 1 remain a game clear at the head of the standings over Imperials and Rookies.

Imperials hold second spot by percentage.

In the first division, Sonix 2, Mana 1 and Steelers 1 notched victories over Mana 2, Rookies 2 and Sonix 3 respectively.

A general bye applies this weekend.

Premier:

Sonix 1 8 points; Imperials 6; Rookies 6; Mana 4; Steelers 4; NVUS 2.

Division 1:

Sonix 3 8 points; Sonix 2 8; Mana 1 6; Imperials 2 4; Rookies 2 4; Steelers 1 0; Mana 2 0.

Under-18 division 1:

Sonix 6 10 points; Mana 4 6; Imperials 5 4; Steelers 0.
