A 35-year-old Singleton man accused of beating a woman and stabbing a man in the chest at a Perth park yesterday afternoon will face court today.
Police say a 25-year-old woman, known to the alleged offender, was left with severe facial swelling and bruising after he assaulted her at Weld Park just before 2pm.
A 46-year-old man, known to the woman, then approached the accused who allegedly stabbed him in the chest with a knife before running away.
The victims chased the accused along Parry Street towards Stirling Street where they caught up with him and confronted him once again.
That’s when police say the offender took out his knife again and slashed the woman to the right forearm, causing a wound that required medical attention.
Perth Detectives have charged the Singleton man with two counts of unlawful wounding and one count of assault occasioning bodily harm.
He will appear in the Perth Magistrates Court today.
