A man has died in a workplace accident in Perth’s south-east.
According to 7 News, the worker was crushed at the Welshpool site around 9am on Friday.
The man had been unloading a truck at the back of the steel fabricator on Sheffield Road when the tragedy unfolded.
Police and paramedics raced to the scene, with a man aged in his 40s, taken to Royal Perth Hospital.
He sustained life-threatening injuries and sadly died a short time after arriving at RPH.
According to 7 News, investigators have been examining a steel pipe, but it’s unclear whether that pipe fell from a truck.
Several Worksafe investigators spent hours at the scene on Friday afternoon, looking at an area between the wall and the truck.
Seven News understands most employees of the family-run steelwork manufacturing business left after the tragedy.
A report will now be prepared for the Coroner.
