Mad cow disease discovered in Scotland for first time in decade

Scotland’s government has reported its first case of mad cow disease in 10 years, located on a farm in Aberdeenshire in the country’s northeast. The nation’s Rural Economy Secretary Fergus Ewing said on Twitter that the government has ‘activated plans to protect food safety’ and that ‘no meat from the affected animal has entered the food chain’.
