Boulder County sheriff’s deputies examine a car driven by a robbery suspect near 61st Street and Valmont Road on Thursday morning.
A Longmont robbery suspect who was chased by police on Thursday morning drove the wrong way on Ken Pratt Boulevard and the Diagonal Highway before he was apprehended near Boulder.
Nobody was injured in the chase.
John Sottile Walsh, 48, of Longmont, was wanted in connection with a theft and strong-armed robbery that occurred on Wednesday in Longmont.
Longmont police Cmdr. Joel Post said at about 9 a.m. Thursday, an officer identified Walsh and stopped him in his silver Toyota Camry in a parking lot at the northeast corner of Ken Pratt and Main Street in the southern part of the city.
“The suspect talked briefly with the officer while remaining inside his car,” Post said in an updated email. “Through a partially open window, the officer told the suspect he was under arrest.”
