Prime Minister Scott Morrison and Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese have faced off in the final leaders’ debate.
It’s been a testy election campaign marred by barbs between the two leaders and press conference gaffes.
Sunday’s second debate descended into farce as the two leaders left viewers stunned by shouting at each other and talking over the top of themselves — and the moderator.
7NEWS Political Editor Mark Riley, who hosted Wednesday’s debate, said he hoped to prevent a repeat of Sunday’s shouting match.
“We get that these two guys don’t like each other, that’s pretty obvious. But voters want to hear their different plans for the future of the country,” he said.
“If that means I have to stand in between them to ensure that happens, then I will.”
