Laurie Dodson allegedly stabbed in Banksia Grove attack while dropping teddy bear to grandson

A grandfather was allegedly stabbed in a frenzied attack outside his son’s Banksia Grove home today.

Laurie Dobson, 64, had emergency surgery at Royal Perth Hospital after suffering wounds to his neck and ear in the attack that happened while he was dropping off a teddy bear for one of his grandchildren.

Mr Dobson and his wife Sue were only paying a quick visit on their way to Lancelin when there was an altercation on the street.

When he stepped in to try and diffuse the situation he was set upon. His family say he was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

A woman aged in her 20s was arrested over the incident and was tonight being questioned by police.
