A convicted murderer who dumped his ex-wife’s body in a Sydney inlet nearly 30 years ago has again failed to have his visa cancellation overturned.
Frederick Chetcuti was jailed in 1993 for 24 years for murdering 47-year-old Gloria Jean Chetcuti.
Her body was found weighted down with rocks in an inlet off Parramatta River two years prior.
Chetcuti, 75, was born in Malta and came to Australia at the age of three.
He became classed as an absorbed person under Australian law in 1994, but had his visa cancelled in 2017 on grounds including character.
The convicted murderer has repeatedly challenged this decision.
His latest attempt to overturn it to avoid deportation was knocked back by the Federal Court of Australia on Tuesday.
