Karratha shark assault: Fisheries officers investigating possible shark bite incident off Delta Island

Authorities are investigating a possible shark attack off the Pilbara coast, with swimmers warned to take care in the area.

The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development has confirmed it is investigating after a report of a “shark bite incident” at 7.20pm on Wednesday near Delta Island, west of Karratha.

People on the water have been advised to take extra caution in the Delta Island area and adhere to any beach closures.
