Kalgoorlie police seeking information after indecent assault of teenage girl

Kalgoorlie police are calling on the public for help with an investigation into an indecent assault of a teenage girl in Boulder on Friday, March 11.

Police said the 17-year-old girl was walking along Thompson Street near the intersection of King Street about 5.20pm when a man riding a black mountain bike stopped her to ask the time.

They said the man attempted to keep her engaged in conversation before dropping the bike and indecently assaulting her.

The victim fought him off and ran away.

Police said the offender was described as being in his 20s with tanned skin, about 183cm tall with a slim build, short light brown hair and clean shaven.

He was said to be wearing black tracksuit pants with white writing along the sides and a black T-shirt with a white symbol, and may have had small bag on his waist.

The mountain bike was described as an older model with a skinny frame, which the man had been riding hands-free.

Kalgoorlie detectives urge anyone with information about the incident, or who has CCTV, mobile phone or dash-cam vision of the area between 5pm and 6pm, to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or online at crimestopperswa.com.au.
