Kalamunda man charged over Northbridge attack on four police which left one with broken nose

A 20-year-old man is behind bars after allegedly unleashing a violent attack on four police officers in Northbridge last night, breaking one of their noses

Police say the attack was triggered about 10.40pm when they warned the man he would be arrested for breaching a move on notice, issued earlier in the evening.

During the arrest on William Street, the man allegedly lashed out at the four officers, with one male constable punched several times and with such force that his nose was broken. He was taken to Royal Perth Hospital for medical treatment.

The other officers: a male sergeant, a male senior constable and a male constable, were all also punched several times, but did not require medical treatment.

A Kalamunda man has been charged with multiple counts of assaulting a public officer and failing to obey order given by an officer.

He was refused police bail and is scheduled to appear in Perth Magistrate’s Court today.

Perth Detectives are investigating the incident.
