“What the boys make of the match plan is extraordinary. If one of them gave a yard less, game over.”

Jurgen Klopp says there is no mountain Liverpool cannot scale after their dramatic win over Paris Saint-Germain in their Champions League opener.
Liverpool looked to have let a two-goal lead slip when Kylian Mbappe equalised in the 83rd minute in a pulsating tie at Anfield, but Roberto Firmino – who did not start because of an eye injury – came off the bench to score a 91st-minute winner.
Real Madrid denied Liverpool a sixth Champions League title in last season’s final, but Klopp believes there are now no limits for his side.
If you play against PSG you have to step up. You play 95 per cent and you lose 5-0.

“If you play against PSG you have to step up, you have to reach the next level,” he said. “You play 95 per cent and you lose 5-0, 100 per cent and you win the game.”
PSG, like Liverpool, went into the game having taken maximum points from all five of their league games this season.
No team had kept their winning margin below two goals and Thomas Tuchel rested Neymar and Mbappe for the 4-0 win over Saint Etienne on Friday.
“Denying them so often, I don’t think a lot of teams have done that,” said Klopp. “It was necessary we played good, the atmosphere was fantastic, so special to do these things in this stadium.
“One, two, three years ago the people would have thought that’s a mountain we cannot climb.
“It’s still so unbelievably difficult, you can’t plan it. What the boys make of the match plan is extraordinary, it’s outstanding.
