A Longmont police report states that when an officer found James Guidice on South Pratt Parkway and Pratt Place a short time after the alleged incident, he was armed with a concealed 9 millimeter handgun with an extra magazine of ammunition and a ski mask.

Guidice, 43, faces charges of robbery, possession of a weapon by a previous offender and possession of methamphetamine.

The manager at Lucky’s Market, 700 Ken Pratt Blvd., told police that Guidice entered the store, took a bag of chips and a container of chocolate milk and walked out the door without paying.

The manager told police that he followed Guidice outside and asked him if he was going to pay for the items, to which Guidice allegedly said “no” and took a swing at the manager when the manager started taking photos of him. The two briefly scuffled before Guidice fled the scene.
