AFL heart-throb Bailey Smith has splashed out on his first home, purchasing a stunning renovated Victorian in Melbourne’s southeast.
The 21-year-old’s new house features three bedrooms and two bathrooms set over two spacious floors, and was sold earlier this month for an undisclosed sum understood to be about $1.8m.
The Western Bulldogs star confirmed the sale in an Instagram story, telling his 354,000 followers he was a “happy boy” following the purchase.
The stylish pad is hallmarked by a light-filled, open-plan living area, with floor-to-ceiling glass doors leading to a private courtyard ready for entertaining.
Two bedrooms with fireplaces and a designer bathroom boasting marble benches complete the ground floor’s functional layout.
Skylit stairs lead up to the oversized main bedroom, fit out with built-in wardrobes, stylish ensuite and a sunny private roof deck.
A sliding wall opens the main bedroom up to create a mezzanine above the living area.
Smith’s chiselled looks and majestic flowing mullet helped him overtake Richmond veteran Dustin Martin as the most followed AFL player on Instagram in 2021.
His soaring popularity has been further bolstered by lucrative deals with the likes of Monster Energy and Cotton On, where he is the brand’s first ever menswear ambassador.
The gun midfielder has already established himself as an integral part of the Bulldogs’ line-up, playing all 66 possible games since being drafted in 2018 — including the 2021 Grand Final.
