Injured Docker Griffin Logue could be surprise contender for final round call up in 2020

Could Fremantle be willing to gamble on defender Griffin Logue for the final game for 2020?

Dockers general manager of football Peter Bell says Logue will come into consideration for a shock call-up, should he get through training later this week.

“Griffin will be looking to have a really solid week on the training track,” Bell said.

“We will then make a call as to whether he is ready to go for the last round.

“I suppose there will be a discussion on whether we would be willing to risk him in that game given his rehabilitation for that toe injury.”

Griffin hasn’t played for the Dockers since injuring his toe against Adelaide in round 5.

The Dockers face the Western Bulldogs in their final game of 2020.

Bell said injured duo Brett Bewley and Reece Conca would also face fitness tests later in the week to determine if they earn a final round recall.

“The scans came back all clear and early reports from Reece are that he should be available this week,” Bell said.

“We are hopeful that (Bewley) will get a full week of training and be available for selection.”

Bewley last played for the Dockers in round 14 after suffering a groin injury against GWS.

Conca missed the big win over North Melbourne last weekend after reporting tightness in his hamstring.
