A baby boy just seven weeks old suffered life threatening injuries at the hands of his father, police allege.
Police allege the 25-year-old dad was home alone with the child on August 10 when the assault took place.
“The baby was conveyed by ambulance to Perth Children’s Hospital where he was treated,” a WA Police spokeswoman said.
“The baby suffered life threatening injuries.”
Child Abuse Squad detectives charged the Hamersley father with grievous bodily harm with a circumstance of aggravation.
He will next appear in the Joondalup Magistrates Court on October 19.
