A man will face court today after a pipe bomb was uncovered during a police raid south of Perth earlier this week.
Detectives were searching the home on Harrison Street in Rockingham on Tuesday when the homemade explosive device was allegedly found on a shelf in the living room.
Police bomb technicians were called to x-ray the device, which contained gas cylinders, nuts and bolts.
It will be alleged police found a flask containing ammonium nitrate – which is commonly used in the manufacturing of explosives – and two detonators.
Police also allegedly found cannabis, methylamphetamine and a homemade taser.
A 30-year-old Rockingham man is due to appear in the Perth Magistrate’s Court today charged with various drugs and weapons offences.
