Dead Ross’ murder investigation has been put on the backburner for a while, but that’s all about to change because things are heating up in the bay and not in the romantic way.
Angelo is in fine form tonight.
Things kick off with Alf and Ari who are talking about fishing and how good it is for the soul.
Angelo lurks nearby, but it’s Bella — who clearly doesn’t look distressed and is very much in love — that he’s interested in.
He smells a rat and follows her — in a non-stalker way — to the diner and then things really get taken up a notch.
So Bella is ordering some food at the diner, the first of many ventures on this day.
She has seemingly unlimited funds even though she doesn’t have a job and Nikau’s occupation of hosing down boats doesn’t seem particularly lucrative.
Irene says something in passing about how Bella is “cheekier” since she came back.
Angelo’s ears perk up.
I assume that Irene is talking about Bella coming back from the special horse camp, but Angelo does some fine detective work and plays Irene’s bluff and she unwittingly lets on about Bella’s mountainous getaway to this Mt Karawong?
I googled it and it doesn’t seem to exist outside Home and Away land.
Angelo gets on the phone and puts two and two together.
Bella was running away and all that stuff about her being too shaken to come in for her statement was just a charade.
Angelo gets his hands on the full passenger list and meticulously highlights the names of the recovery crew — Mac, Ari, Tane and Nikau and Bella who returned home together.
Angelo pays Bella a visit and that smile is wiped off her face immediately.
She has to head down to the station now and Nikau watches on as she gets into the car and he looks like he’s going to break.
I cannot wait to see what Colby comes up with and what is going to happen to poor Irene?
Now onto Tane who, isn’t in the least phased about being glassed by those dudes. I suppose it’s common place for “dodgy” people.
He begs Mac not to call the police and they head to the hospital together.
I cannot believe what happens next, but the elevator breaks down with just the two of them stuck inside.
Tane is unusually clam for someone who is bleeding from their abdomen. He’s a bit sweaty at best.
Mac on the other hand seems to be suffering from claustrophobia and in her distressed state figures out that Tane knows the dudes who did the damage.
Their hot and sweaty bods cuddle up to one another for comfort.
After some minutes the doors spontaneously open.
Ari is waiting for them and Mac covers for Tane.
Tane’s injuries aren’t extensive so they head home and Mac pours herself a massive glass of wine and lounges around in her luxurious robe.
Tane’s gaze is locked on her and this steamy attraction is not over yet.
Leah and Justin sit down and talk about the looming surgery and plan a family fun day with Ava playing soccer and taking selfies.
Ava has the “best day ever” and it’d be a naw moment if Justin wasn’t such a drip. I’m willing to cut him some slack if and when he actually goes through with the surgery.
And speaking of having a good time, Roo and Owen’s romantic walk up to the lighthouse went well.
Things are “back on track” and they’re texting each other.
