The twinkle is Roo’s eye hasn’t gone unnoticed and now there whole town is egging the lovebirds on.
We left last night’s episode with Owen and Roo’s date — which we’re now told was not a date even though it looked very much like a date.
It picks back up again tonight but skips to the end of the non-date and there’s a lot of sighing going on and I fear the non-date has gone badly.
Owen enquires as to the nature of Roo’s relationship with Evan, his dead twin brother, and after some lengthy hesitation Roo admits that if the circumstances were different — i.e. if Evan wasn’t dying — they could have grown quite close.
Owen remarks that he’s happy Roo was there in Evan’s final days and despite the odd fate that brought them together, by all measures it’s a good non-date and the twinkle is back baby!
In true fashion, it’s not long before word of this non-date gets around, no thanks to Ryder who is suddenly very invested in his aunt’s love life.
Alf, Marilyn and Irene are also very keen on idea.
I though maybe Irene fancied a bit of Owen Daddo herself, but it’s more likely that she’s woefully single and we don’t need to be concerned that Irene is about to steal Roo’s man from underneath her.
However what is of concern is that Irene cuts or rather hacks at carrots vertically.
Roo and Owen run into each other at the van park and he asks her out on a real date.
She’s very perky and rightly so, but the stakes are just so high. She’s going into this real date with all these expectations pinned on the hope that he’s going to be like original Daddo.
Meanwhile, bringing a pre-teen into the Justin situation is a brilliant idea and it whips him into shape.
Tori and Ava gush over how cute baby Grace is (of course) but it’s cut short because Ava sees though Justin’s drug-hazed facade.
Tori and Leah are both pushing for Justin to tell Ava the truth. And he’s agreed to tell her in the morning.
It’s now the morning and Ava invites him to some sports thing and Justin is left with no option but to confess.
But then he chickens out and blames work.
Leah and aunty Tori shake their heads in disapproval because they cannot believe how weak and delusional Justin is.
Their reaction works a treat and Justin tells Ava about the tumour and he’s even going to get a second opinion on the surgery like he should have done straight away and this past week or so of Justin’s same storyline wasn’t necessary.
Finally onto Jas.
There’s a long clip of Jasmine running and I immediately fear that I spoke too soon and crazy Jas is back – because she was also a keen runner.
Jas and Tori bump into each other and again bond over how cute Gracie is. Eye roll.
I should probably point out that I don’t hate babies.
Anyway, Jasmine had a big night out with the gals but despite that, she isn’t hungover and is in fact feeling great and having fun — the “F” word.
The next bit is awfully tired but Jasmine is Tori’s rock just when she needs support with Justin and it strengthens their relationship.
So can confirm, crazy Jas in gone.
