Hayden Young rewarding Fremantle Dockers’ faith after massive contract extension

It has not taken long for the Dockers to reap the benefits of making Hayden Young the most committed player at the club.

Young, originally from the Dandenong Stingrays before being drafted with pick seven by the Dockers in 2019, turned his back on returning home to Victoria in favour of putting pen to paper on a four-year extension on top of his current contract that will see him remain in purple until at least 2027.

The deal was signed and delivered on the eve of round 11, and since then, the 21-year-old has played his way into the top 10 interceptors across rounds nine to 13.
