Hawthorn racism review author Phil Egan unlikely to take part in investigation, claims he is being silenced

A non-disclosure agreement will mean the author of the explosive Hawthorn racism review document will be unable to fully take part in the AFL’s independent investigation.

Former AFL player Phil Egan signed the agreement as a condition of conducting and writing the review, which saw him interview past and present First Nations players and their families.

The review shocked the AFL world when released to the public with claims of rampant racism within the club, including from head coach at the time Alastair Clarkson and his deputy Chris Fagan.

The sickening allegations include claims Indigenous players and their partners were told to get abortions while detailing further bullying behaviour.
