Gunman on the run after man shot and bashed in Upper Swan home in Perth’s eastern suburbs

A gunman is on the run after a man was shot and bashed in Perth’s eastern suburbs this afternoon.

The man in his 30s was shot in the leg and badly bashed in his Upper Swan home.

He was taken on priority to Royal Perth Hospital and is in a stable condition.

Police sources say the man is so far refusing to cooperate with the early stages of their investigation.

Police have not taken anyone into custody and no firearm has been recovered, however detectives believe there is no wider threat to the Upper Swan community.

They are also exploring the possibility it was a targeted attack.

The shooting happened at around 2.20pm this afternoon at a house in Wann Court.

Sources say the man may have been shot shortly after a person forced their way into his home and as he tried to jump over a nearby fence.
