Guards and firearms to be removed from Korea’s demilitarised zone

The United Nations Command alongside North and South Korea have agreed to reduce the number of firearms and guards posted in the region’s demilitarised zone. The tension-easing step for the Peninsula will take place before Thursday and will be confirmed through joint inspections before the end of the week.
