Goldfields Police issue $1000 fine to individual found breaching COVID-19 orders in Norseman

Police have issued a $1000 fine to a person caught breaching COVID-19 requirements in Norseman.

Goldfields-Esperance District Police took to Facebook today to reveal an individual required to wear a mask and gloves following a test was reported flouting the requirements.

The individual was fined $1000 by Norseman Police following a public tip off.

WA currently has nine active cases, all of whom are currently in hotel quarantine.

A returned international traveller in his 50s diagnosed with coronavirus today takes WA’s overall number of cases to 653, of which nine people have died of the disease and 635 have now recovered.

In a promising sign the Victorian second wave is finally being brought to heel, with the number of new cases reported today plummeting to 116, the lowest daily tally increase in six weeks dating back to July 5.

However, another 15 people died of the virus in Victoria — all aged care residents — lifting the state’s death toll to 430.
