‘Go bankrupt’: Amber Heard’s three options after judge denies retrial bid

Mitry Lawyers’ Richard Mitry says Amber Heard’s options are either to pay the full amount ordered by the court to her ex-husband Johnny Depp, “go bankrupt” or appeal.

His remarks come after a Virginia judge denied the actress her bid for a retrial after Ms Heard’s legal team argued one of the jurors, juror 15, meant to serve in the trial was replaced by someone else.

“There’s talk about a potential appeal,” Mr Mitry told Sky News Australia.

“She might do that now that the retrial attempt has failed, that would be an appeal to a higher court to test what she would see were errors in the original hearing.

“Whether she does so or not, we’ll soon see.”
