Girl, 12, injured after Holden Commodore slams into parked cars at Fremantle car club event

A car club event in Fremantle almost ended in tragedy after a driver lost control of his high-powered Holden Commodore and ploughed into a row of parked vehicles injuring an innocent 12-year-old girl.

The driver was attempting a skid as he turned on to Beach Road but completely lost control and slid side on into three cars on Saturday night.

The 12-year-old girl was standing on the footpath behind the parked vehicles when the Holden slammed into them. She managed to move out the way however her hand got bumped in the process.

Footage of the incident was posted on social media with many criticising the driver for attempting the manoeuvre in the first place.

In one video, people can be heard saying “F****** idiot”, while others were concerned for a person who was believed to be in the passenger side of one of the parked cars.

“There’s someone in that car, see if that person is all right?”, a man says in the video uploaded to the Aussie Write Offs Facebook page.

A WA Police spokesman confirmed to The West Australian they were investigating the incident.

He said a 12-year-old girl who received a bump to her hand was taken to hospital, as was the driver of the Holden who suffered suspected neck injuries.

He also said a 29-year-old man was assisting police with their inquiries.

The man’s now damaged car has also been seized, while all four cars required towing.

A St John Ambulance spokeswoman said paramedics were called to the scene at 9.38pm after receiving reports a 12-year-old girl was injured.

She said the girl was taken to Fiona Stanley Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
