These French restaurateurs have all the reasons to smile this weekend.
Sarah Benkhanouche, Alexandre Lui-van-sheng and Laure Vallereau, of Swan Valley cafe Maison Saint-Honore, will fly their country’s flag during today’s Bastille Day celebrations and tomorrow’s World Cup final.
Cafe manager Ms Benkhanouche said she expected 700 customers over the weekend to taste the French delicacies.
“It’s a French weekend,” she said. “We are making French-coloured macarons and mille-feuille and we will wear French-coloured make-up. “
Ms Benkhanouche, 26, came to WA six months ago from France.
A passionate soccer supporter, she is overjoyed her country’s national day and the World Cup final are so close.
“I have watched all the games so far and we will go to Crown to watch the final,” she said.
The cafe is giving away a box of macarons to the person who guesses the World Cup result.
