Former FBI Director James Comey, fired after he refused to let Flynn ‘go,’ is having some fun on social media

Someone’s in a good mood.

As the special counsel investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election moves closer to President Trump’s inner circle, the man reportedly pressured by Trump not to charge ex-national security advisor Michael T. Flynn has been posting online famous quotes about truth and justice.

Former FBI Director James B. Comey posted on Instagram Saturday a photo of sunlight reflecting off the waters of Long Island Sound and paraphrased a saying often attributed to the Buddha: “Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun; the moon; and the truth.”

Flynn pleaded guilty Friday to lying to the FBI about his contacts in December with Russia’s ambassador in Washington at the time.

Comey seemed to be feeling vindicated by the news.

Hours after special counsel Robert S. Mueller III announced on Friday that Flynn would cooperate with investigators, Comey shared a photograph of waterfalls and quoted from the biblical book Amos, writing: “But let justice roll down like waters and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.”

Comey was fired as FBI director in May. In February, the day after Trump fired Flynn for lying to the vice president and to the FBI, Trump reportedly asked Comey whether he could see his way “to letting Flynn go.” Comey wrote down Trump’s comments in notes he made after the Feb. 14 meeting.
