Former Australian Test captain Tim Paine set for comeback after training with home state Tasmania

Former Australian Test captain Tim Paine is preparing for a return to cricket, with the wicketkeeper set to represent his home state of Tasmania in the Sheffield Shield this summer.

The Australian is reporting Paine has been training with the state squad in recent weeks and could play for them in their clash against Queensland at Allan Border Field on October 6, despite not having a contract with the state.

Paine, 37, has not featured at any level since he resigned as Test skipper following revelations of a four-year sexting scandal late last year, which rocked the cricket world.
