Forestry carve up Boyup Brook for eighth win on the trot

Top-of-the-table Forestry made it eight wins in a row as they completely outplayed finals aspirants Boyup Brook in their recent clash at Boyup Brook Oval.

Forestry batted first and got off to a solid start, with the top three Mat Johnston (13), Duncan Wells (39) and Corey Gibellini (23) all making starts.

Some great bowling from Tristan Mead (4-29) had Forestry in trouble at 5-87, but with captain Kallan Fall (25) and Connor Ipsen (33) and some solid contributions down the order, Forestry were bowled out for 170.

Declan Holland bowled well, taking 2-24.

In reply, Boyup put on 16 for the first wicket, but from then on the two Forestry opening bowlers in Ipsen (6-12) and Blake Johnston (3-50) completely rattled the Boyup batting line-up as they were dismissed for a measly 66 runs in only 14.1 overs.

Tim Mead (24) was the only batsmen to make double figures.

So with the Country Week bye coming up, Forestry surge further ahead on top of the ladder, whilst Boyup remain in a logjam of teams still fighting for a finals spot.
