A busy Melbourne street will be partially closed to peak morning motorists after a burst water main buckled the road surface and left it looking like a swimming pool.
Drivers travelling eastbound on Victoria Street will be diverted during the peak period on Friday morning, roughly 24 hours after the burst pipe flooded the area.
It’s the second day the section of road will be closed to motorists due to “extensive damage” caused by the flooding, VicRoads said in a statement.
Engineers are monitoring conditions and making changes to signals in real time to minimise delays with motorists urged to avoid the area.
But the road remains open for those heading westward.
