Ellendal Pool open again after cyclone closure

Ellendale Pool campsite has reopened to the public now toilet facilities are working once again.

City of Greater Geraldton mayor Shane Van Styn said the water was flowing again after they restored power supply to the water pumps.

He said the power line feeding the pumps ran across a farm whose owner had had some difficulty getting it repaired.

“The City is now investigating ways to be self-reliant for power to prevent such outages in the future such as solar panels and storage,” he said.

It had been feared a shortage of tradespeople would keep the popular tourist attraction shut for a several more weeks.

The City closed it on April 9 as a precaution ahead of Cyclone Seroja.
