Dunsborough ready to go | The West Australian

The start of Busselton-Margaret River Cricket Association’s 2018-19 season is just days away and Dunsborough Cricket Club is gearing up and ready to build on last year’s success.

The A-grade side will be captained by Nick Ritchie and aims to go one better than last year’s 50-over grand final loss.

Ian Purcell will again captain the B-grade side while keeping the same mantra that won them the T20 and 45-over grand finals last year.

Andy Mahoney will be captaining the C-grade side once more, which will be aiming for four grand final wins in a row.

The club is welcoming back last year’s import, West Indian fast bowler Riccardo Small-Boyce, and has added English all-rounder Michael Walker to the playing stocks.

Danny Hatton and Pete Morris have both gone to St Mary’s, while Mark Natale has moved to Albany.

The club has a new president this year in Chris King and he said his aim was to continue nurturing the club’s great culture fostered over the years and ensure all players were enjoying their cricket.

He is also looking forward to getting the younger and junior players up into the senior teams where possible.

He predicts St Mary’s will be the team to beat this year.

The club thanked sponsors including South West Coachlines, Beef by the Reef, Artezen Cafe, Dunsborough Vet, Dunsborough Outdoor Sportz, Bendigo Bank, Dunsborough Cellars, Snake and Herring, Resource Instrumentation and Electrical and Realmark Dunsborough.
