Detail that led police to man wanted over Levi Johnson’s alleged murder

A man wanted for the murder of bikie associate Levi Johnson was caught when his girlfriend ordered takeaway for dinner.

Mr Johnson, 23, was chased and stabbed to death after his car was rammed and its windows smashed with a crowbar in a carpark outside a Mansfield gym in regional Victoria.

The latest arrest ends a manhunt for four men suspected of being involved in the alleged September 12 murder.

Kyle Martin is alleged to have been attempting to flee to Western Australia before he was found at a motel in Warwick, southwest of Brisbane.

Police allege Mr Martin fatally stabbed Mr Johnson six times and also brought the knife used in the attack.

Officers had been tracking his girlfriend’s car when she went to pick up takeaway for dinner on Saturday night.

“That food was sufficient for two people and was paid in cash,” Detective Superintendent Andrew Massingham told 4BC radio station on Monday.
