Mick Channon is thinking of giving Dan’s Dream a mid-season break with attention switched towards an autumn campaign.
Channon was forced to full the plug on a crack at the Irish 1,000 Guineas due to a dirty scope.
However, he feels conditions at the Curragh would probably have been too quick for the Fred Darling winner in any case and she is now likely to be put away in the hope the ground is softer in the second half of the campaign.
“She has just got a bit of mucus in her and she scoped bad, otherwise we would have gone to Ireland with her,” said Channon.
“But, having said that, it’s probably a blessing with how the ground was.
“What we will probably do now is miss Ascot and the Coronation Stakes and prepare for the autumn when we get some soft ground again.
“She is in everything but the ground has gone on us.
“We hope we can have a nice fresh filly for the back-end of the season.
“She will stay a
mile. It didn’t go right in the Guineas but some times things like that happen.”
