Daisy dog gone lucky after ruff day in Denmark

A border collie got more than she bargained for while exploring Denmark’s Ocean Beach this morning when she became wedged between rocks prompting a 90 minute rescue.

Denmark Volunteer Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene to rescue Daisy who had fallen about 3m into a gap while exploring the beach with her owners.

“Her humans tried to get her out but just didn’t have access to anything to do it safely so they called the awesome rangers from the Shire of Denmark who quickly realised some more help was needed and asked the owner to call the Department of Fire and Emergency Services WA and well that’s how we met Daisy,” a spokesman said.

“We had to think a bit differently for this one and because of the nature of the task we had to keep everyone safe, not to mention keeping Daisy safe.

“So to assist us we called Claudia from Denmark Vet Hospital & Paws Surgery Services to come out and provide us some advice.

“Overall it took crews about an hour and a half to gain access and help get Daisy out of her pickle and off to continue her adventures.”
