Possibly completing the longer Uber eats trip the world has ever seen, Croc Café and Bakery owner Ellen Hayes transported one of her iconic croc pies from Wyndham to Perth this month.
The journey began two months ago when Ms Hayes received a phone call from a Perth man asking if the Croc Café delivered.
While this was not a service the newly founded business yet offered, Mrs Hayes offered to take a few pies on her next trip to Perth.
“I rang him he was so stoked couldn’t stop thanking me,” she said.
“Packed up two crocodile pies and four barramundi pies, froze them in a cooler bag with ice blocks and put them in a suit case.”
Ms Hayes drove direct to the Byford man’s home from the airport when she touched down and hand delivered the iconic pies to the grateful, long-distance customer.
“He said he couldn’t believe how good crocodile tastes,” she said.
The café has only been open since May and Ms Hayes said so far she “couldn’t make enough” pies as demand grew.
