Creative street art sought | The West Australian

The Dunsborough Progression Association is looking for creatives to help decorate the town centre for a new street-art initiative.

WanderArt will be a continuation of previous street art carried out in the town, including the murals in Hannay Lane.

Project co-ordinator Mandy Edwards said anyone interested should contact the DPA and provide details on what would like to create, and where.

“The DPA’s WanderArt project will encourage visitors to stop, look, and wonder at ordinary urban elements that have been transformed into amazing art,” she said.

“The artworks will play with features of the urban environment … think lampposts, drains, downpipes, cracks in the wall, electrical mains boxes, and can be art of any medium.”

The deadline for submissions is Monday, December 3, and all artwork must be completed by March 1 next year to coincide with the opening of the Dunsborough Arts Festival.

The project has the support of the City of Busselton and the Dunsborough Yallingup Chamber of Commerce, and more information can be found at dunsboroughprogress.com.au.

Email Ms Edwards at polleymandy@hotmail.com with your expression of interest.
