COVID-19 and injury have not dampened Perth Glory US signing Cyera Hintzen’s enthusiasm for the A-League

COVID-19 and injury have not deterred Perth Glory women’s US signing Cyera Hintzen from wanting a return to the A-League.

The former US under-19 international was hit by a double whammy, an abductor injury that has restricted her to just three games and being hit by a dose of COVID while sidelined.

But the 26-year-old attacker, who spent last season in Iceland with reigning league champions Valur, is ready to come back.

“It was always one of my dreams to come to Australia,” said Hintzen who won the 2018 Big 12 Conference offensive player of the year while playing for University of Texas.

“It’s not what I was expecting to experience but I’ve had a great time considering everything I’ve gone through.

“My experience here has been great and I’d love to come here again and play in this league.

“The support system for the women’s game is amazing.

“It (A-League) is very aggressive and I think that has helped me and my game.”
