The Country XI colts have gone through the West Australian Premier Cricket Colts League without a win after two losses on Sunday.
Fremantle handed the country cricketers a heartbreaking eight-run defeat at Alderbury Reserve, with Fremantle’s Bayley Holman scoring a run a ball 42 to help his side to 9/126 after electing to bat first.
Despite losing wickets regularly, Fremantle battled to a competitive total.
Country XI captain Daniel Gollan, Graham Yates and Jack Batchelor each took two wickets in what was a solid bowling performance.
But the Country XI struggled with the bat, scoring 9/118 from their 20 overs, with Fraser Oates scoring 39 from 30 deliveries
Fremantle captain Liam Dallimore was the main destroyer, taking four wickets in his team’s big victory.
The Country XI were then blown out of the water against Subiaco-Floreat, as the regional team was bowled out for just 63 in 16.1 overs.
Troyden Thorp and Darcy Ingle top scored with 16 runs, but they were the only batsman to reach double figures.
Subiaco-Floreat got the runs with ease, passing the total in 10.3 overs with just one wicket down.
Perth Scorcher Cam Green scored 20 not out, while opener Hamish McKenzie top scored with 29 from 30 deliveries.
