Coronavirus: Mother in Perth hotel quarantine breach after allegedly leaving to buy groceries for kids

A mother-of-three is facing charges after allegedly leaving hotel quarantine in Perth on two separate occasions to buy groceries for her children.

The family was undergoing quarantine in a Hay Street hotel not arranged by the WA Government after arriving from NSW so that the woman’s husband could start a new job in the mining industry, 9NEWS reported.

The husband said the family was sorry for the breach but that they were left with no option because their children, aged between four and seven, were hungry.

They had been relying on online grocery delivery orders and had fallen behind.

The woman left the hotel twice for at least 20 minutes to buy milk, eggs and medicine and took at least one child with her on both occasions.

She will face court next month while the family has been moved to high-security quarantine at the InterContinental Hotel.
