The Sherlock Holmeses of the Kalgoorlie-Boulder community instinctively solved a murder mystery at the Goldfields Repertory Club last Friday night.
The group’s Murder at the Cooked Duck performance was its second stab at immersive theatre and enticed the audience to solve the murder of Frank, owner of the Cooked Duck, a fictional jazz club.
The sold-out show delved into a series of flashbacks and memories of each of the characters, all of whom worked at the Cooked Duck.
There were a number of suspects and everyone had a strong motive to kill the club owner.
Unlike the typical theatre performance, the audience was invited to interact with Rep Club actors in character to strengthen their investigations.
Club secretary Owen Hinton said the show had a lot of positive feedback and the club would be creating more immersive theatre experiences in the future.
The performance was on the back of the group’s highly successful wizarding-themed immersive theatre show in July.
