They’re BAAAACK!

In a previous life I was a foot soldier in former Gov. Dick Lamm’s organized effort to defeat the last Colorado Olympics chase. We defeated it, drove a silver stake through it, buried it, did some incantations and burned some incense. The vote against the effort was so overwhelming that we thought the premise was dead — forever.

We’re now to take comfort that the new effort includes money-encrusted elites as well as a football star. The effort hasn’t left the gate yet, and already there’s a problem. “Discussions are being held behind closed doors.”

Any Olympic effort involves all people in Colorado as a successful attempt would affect all of us. I’m having some trouble in finding any positive aspects for the general public. Yet, we’re to accept that the closed meetings involve “proprietary information.” Propriety information on something that involves all of us? I’m confused.
