Clothing tops the Boxing Day sale wishlist

Clothes and kitchen items top the wishlist for Australian shoppers hungry for a bargain at the Boxing Day sales.

With shoppers set to splurge a record $2.75 billion on what’s expected to be the biggest Boxing Day sale in a decade, a survey by a consumer group has picked out what’s likely to be the most popular items.

“The Boxing Day sales can be a great opportunity to nab an item that you’ve had your eye on for a while at a cheaper price,” says CHOICE’s Matt Steen.

“Clothing and small kitchen appliances are set to be the hot ticket items for the sales this year.”

The survey of 2500 shoppers revealed almost half, 49 percent, said clothing was their number one choice.

Another 22 percent were looking to pick up kitchen appliances in the sales, while groceries, bed linen, manchester, and towels were also popular items.

Savvy festive shoppers were looking to snap up discounted Christmas trees and decorations.
