Cleo Smith search: Carnarvon locals go to extraordinary lengths to return youngster to her family

Carnarvon residents have banded together to throw all their energy into bringing four-year-old Cleo Smith back to her family, with one local handing out more than 2000 missing person stickers.

Kristy Collett said she wanted to do anything she could to help find the little girl and has clocked up 300km on her car driving around town to distribute the stickers, which have been printed by Carnarvon Signworks.

Mrs Collett said community members had donated in exchange for the free stickers, helping her raise $2000 to gift to Coral Coast Helicopter Services for the team’s work in searching for Cleo.

“It shows how close we can be when something like this happens,” she said.

“The family always seemed like such nice, genuine people.

“I have a son Cleo’s age and it puts it in perspective… I lost him for 10 minutes at the shops once and I panicked.

“I couldn’t imagine going through that for days on end.”
