Chip samples show bonanza silver and impressive gold grades for PolarX

Rock chip samples from PolarX’s Black Canyon claims in Nevada have given up some spectacular silver grades and impressive gold values. Some silver assays were above 1,000 grams/tonne, or more than 32 ounces to the tonne silver. The samples come from Nevada’s Humboldt Range.

More than 50 assays were received from rock chip sampling at the southern-most veins at PolarX’s Fourth of July prospect in the Humboldt Range.

All veins returned high silver grades with some also giving up bonanza gold grades as well – particularly from the Cottonwood zone, one of the southern-most targets.

They include assays of 17.3 g/t gold, 15.57 g/t and 10.35 g/t gold from rock chips that also showed readings of up to 300 g/t silver.

The results came from the Jackson, Cottonwood, Black Warrior and Lucky Dog veins.

The company said the results complemented and extended historical sampling which contained similar silver results and gold grades.

The company’s Humboldt Range project takes in 272 lode mining claims in two groups – Black Canyon and Fourth of July. They are situated between two large-scale active mines, the Florida Canyon gold mine and the Rochester silver-gold mine.

PolarX said that in addition to rock chip sampling of known veins, systematic soil sampling on a notional 200 metre by 50 metre grid had been completed over all of Fourth of July, with assays expected in up to three weeks.

Systematic soil and vein sampling and geological mapping is underway on the more gold-dominant Black Canyon claims to the north, where previous sampling returned some crazy peak vein samples of up to 3,384 g/t gold, 2,837 g/t silver, 22.9 per cent lead and 3.1 per cent zinc.

Work to date has shown the Jackson Vein has a strike length of 330 metres for high grade silver and strong gold grades, while rock chip assays from Cottonwood support high grade silver and gold grades over a strike of 370m. The Lucky Dog A and B veins show a strike length of 260m.

The Black Warrior Vein has a 515m strike length and is accompanied by East Warrior at 200m and West Warrior at 165m of strike.

On completion of the field programs in Nevada, PolarX’s technical staff will relocate to Alaska to prepare for core drilling at the high-grade Caribou Dome copper project which has a resource of 2.8 million tonnes grading a solid 3.1 per cent copper.

The company said it applied for permits to further drill at Caribou Dam back in May and it intended to test the still open depth and along strike extensions of the deposit as soon as it was able to.
