Charges for ‘intruder’ who crashed through Ballajura home’s ceiling

An alleged home intruder who fell through the ceiling of a Ballajura home, landing just metres from traumatised children, has been charged.

Police say the 46-year-old from Ellenbrook entered the Illawarra Crescent South home through the roof and ceiling on Tuesday night.

When he was discovered, he is alleged to have barricaded himself inside the home.

Jeff Abaz yesterday told 7NEWS he was stunned after a stranger came crashing through the ceiling, landing just metres from where his grandchildren, aged 3 and 6, were watching TV.

Police say they had to kick a door down to arrest the man.
