The streets around Geraldton will get another boost of colour after the City of Greater Geraldton teamed up with local artists to design and paint bus shelters.
Arrangements for seven bus stops with shelters from Bluff Point to Beachlands were painted throughout the week starting on Monday. The artwork — originally scheduled to begin on August 1 — was postponed because of bad weather conditions.
The works are painted by local artists including Helen Ansell, Peta Riley, Nicole Dickerson, Janeen Horne, Sara Walker and Narelle Beaver.
The first artwork was painted on the Harrison Street shelter in Bluff Point by Walker, featuring a large trout. Other locations with unique designs include the Geraldton Regional Hospital, Central Road, Chapman Road and Fitzgerald Street.
