Bunbury’s Connor Blakely has continued to rack up possessions for Peel Thunder in the WAFL, but his journey back into Fremantle’s senior side has suffered another setback with the midfielder in doubt for the weekend.
Blakely amassed 38 touches in the Thunder’s four-point loss to Swan Districts at the weekend — his most in a season where he has averaged just shy of 28 possessions.
But the out-of-favour midfielder suffered a compound dislocation of a finger in the last quarter of the match, and is is in doubt for Saturday’s match against East Perth, as Fremantle prepare to regroup with an AFL bye.
The injury occurred on the same day he was named as an emergency for the first time in 2022 for the Dockers clash with Hawthorn.
Meanwhile in the match, Bunbury’s Aiden Clarke and Donnybrook’s Tobe Watson had 27 and 20 possessions to help their side over the line.
Elsewhere, Bailey Rogers has continued to get back to his best after a disrupted preseason and had 35 disposals and a goal in Claremont’s 38-point win over West Coast, while Isiah Winder managed just seven touches.
For East Perth, Stanley Wright, Damon Greaves and Harley Sparks had plenty of the footy while Scott Jones was once again dominant in the ruck.
